Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Hypertension is also known as high blood pressure (HBP). This is a serious condition that can lead to coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure and other health problems.

About 1 in 3 adults in the United States has high blood pressure. High blood pressure itself usually has no symptoms. It’s known as the “silent killer.” Many people don’t even realize they have it. That is why knowing your blood pressure numbers is important, even when you are feeling fine.
